Assynt is the area south of Kylesku in West Sutherland, and is a land of mountains, rocks, lochs, wildlife, highland crofts,  unspoilt coastlines, and a rich natural and cultural heritage.

Experience some of the most dramatic and remote scenery in Europe as the roads wind around the isolated mountain peaks, passing through traditional crofting communities, and along spectacular coastlines.

Lochinver has an award-winning Assynt Visitor Centre and Tourist Information Centre, and these provide details of the many attractions and places of interest in the Assynt area.

 

The Assynt area has many celebrated attractions such as the famous sea stack 'The Old Man of Stoer' which is within walking distance from Culkein Bay, Inchnadamph National Nature Reserve featuring prehistoric bone caves, and the Knockan Visitor Centre which has interesting geological and nature trails.
